What is FORME?
FORME is a platform for licensed local activation. Rather than holding stock in a central warehouse, FORME enables designs to be licensed and then realized through local makers where possible.
What exactly am I buying?
You are not usually buying pre-made stock. In most cases, you are purchasing a license that enables a design to move into a local activation process.
Do you ship internationally?
Not in the conventional retail sense. FORME is built around licensed local activation, meaning designs are typically realized through local makers rather than shipped as pre-made stock from a central warehouse.
What does “local activation” mean?
Local activation means a design is interpreted and realized through a maker or specialist working as locally as possible to the steward. This may reduce shipping, support local expertise, and create a more traceable production pathway.
Is this made to measure?
Sometimes. The final pathway depends on the design, the maker, and the activation brief. Some pieces may involve fittings, measurements, or specific adjustments during the activation process.
Who makes the garment or object?
Yes, in many cases. You may nominate a maker, atelier, fabricator, or local production partner you already trust, or ask FORME to help identify suitable skills near you. Makers retain agency over feasibility, pricing, method, and bounded interpretation, and their contribution may become part of the provenance record.
Can I choose my maker?
In some cases, yes. The platform is designed to support selection, dialogue, and fit between steward, design, and maker rather than treating production as invisible.
Is the changing room preview a final representation?
No. The changing room is a rough AI-assisted test view only. It is intended as a reflective tool, not a final guarantee of fit, material behavior, or garment outcome.
Why is there a license before production?
The license establishes the right to activate the design. This protects authorship, clarifies the pathway into production, and distinguishes FORME from copy-first retail models.
Can I return it?
FORME is not designed around speculative buying and mass returns. Because licensed activation may involve local interpretation, labor, fittings, and made-to-order processes, return conditions are different from standard retail and should be reviewed carefully at the point of activation.
What if there is no maker near me?
If no suitable maker is available nearby, the activation may need to be widened geographically, delayed, or handled through an alternative pathway. Locality is a principle, but suitability and quality still matter.
Why does FORME feel different from a normal online store?
Because it is. FORME is built around authored design, licensing, local realization, and provenance rather than stockholding, markdown cycles, and frictionless overconsumption.
